Leading Providers
Leading Providers Leading Providers (www.leadingproviders.com) provides services for both consumers and business professionals. Leading Providers evaluates and certifies service providers across the United States using a rigorous screening process based on public and private data sources. Service professionals who successfully complete the certification process have the opportunity to participate in a number of marketing services offered by Leading Providers. Leading Providers has created an extensive library of industry information including informative videos and brochures to empower the consumer to make an informative decision on which provider meets their needs.
Site Components
Leading Providers required an extensive and sophisticated set of components to allow for proper administration of the content management system. We developed a scalable solution that would integrate many of Joomla's built in features while providing interfaces for the management of custom components and modules.
The largest component controls categories and industries giving the ability create profiles, application forms, and other industry related pages designed specifically for that industry. This component then uses the information to generate dynamic content for most of the site, allowing the administrator to simply turn the section off it is not being used or the service is not available.
The next addition was an extensive profile management system to maintain customer profiles, and generate both the provider directory and provider profiles. This system includes a set of custom template commands to allow for special items such as hyper links to be included in the customer profile with out risking SQL Injection or other security concerns. To enhance the component we implemented several application programming interfaces including Google Maps API and You Tube Player API for location and video services.
The final section was the Published Research and Video Libraries which allow the management of different media resources. These resources are linked with customer profiles and the resource center providing useful information for the consumer to view when researching industries and service providers.
